JOB APPLICATION TIPS

Want to know how to write a cover letter? One that impresses and gets you invited to the job interview? Want to make sure your letter doesn’t end up in the trash? The following tips will help you in this process.

This is how you successfully apply with a distinctive application letter:

Tip 1. Your cover letter is not a summary of your CV

Make sure you explain your motivation in your cover letter. Explain certain points from your CV and describe why you are the perfect fit for the job.

Tip 2. Know the company

If you know the company you can determine your strategy for your motivation letter. Is it a small or large organization? Both require a completely different approach. Is the organization more creatively related or more business related? That is why it is important to be well informed in advance.

How do you immerse yourself in an organization?

Go to the company’s website. Often there is an ‘About Us’ page. You can also take a look at the social media channels of a company, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and / or Instagram. The tone of voice can also tell a lot about an organization. How does the company communicate? What are the core values?

Tip 3. Why should we hire you?

When applying, one of the important things is to identify yourself. If you do not do this, there is a good chance that you will not be invited to a conversation.

But how do you identify yourself?

Do this with professionalism and creativity. Show what you can but also show who you are as a person. However, don’t forget the company you want to work for.

Tip 4. Be real

If your cover letter is not genuine, you are missing out. A letter that is not sincere often consists of standard phrases and words that everyone uses. So be real. Your motivation to want to work somewhere and the qualities you have must be as honest as possible.
